Always take the scenic route.
I recently returned from an amazing trip to California to visit one my best friends. Part of our time was spent road tripping to Joshua Tree National Park, a destination that I have long wanted to visit. It was everything incredible that I thought it would be! If you haven’t been, I highly recommend it.
Here’s a top ten list of WHAT TO BRING when visiting Joshua Tree National Park. Let me know if there’s anything you’d add?
- Water
- Camera
- Beautiful model/friend.
- Playlist of old classics. Nothing like listening to a little Johnny Cash or Elvis, and obviously U2, as you roll through the desert and make your way through Dr. Seuss-like sprawling trees.
- Sunnies and a wide brimmed hat.
- An appetite and a little extra time to swing by Pappy and Harriet’s at the end of your visit for some delicious slow roasted bbq.
- Extra cash for a funky piece of local art to bring home as a souvenir from one of Yucca’s many antique shops. It’s a bohemian’s dreamland.
- A good pair of walking shoes.
- Your sense of adventure and wanderlust.
- More water!
As you can see, my favorite part of the trip was all about the scenery and capturing magical moments. I even roped my pretty co-pilot into doing a hot desert photo session with me! Yep, it was over 100 degrees! And she loved it!
